A topic near and dear to the heart of this economist.  Susan Shelley has crunched the numbers for us and calculated the cost (to California taxpayers) of mailing a ballot to every registered voter in the state.  If only the state would purge the voter rolls of those who have died, moved out of state, or are not eligible to vote.  We could save quite a bit!
